What our customers are saying...

...I just opened the box and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. Ordering over the Internet is always a bit of a shot in the dark, but in this case I hit the bull's eye. This motor-drive is clearly not a toy, but feels and looks like a piece of heavy duty "military grade" equipment. The photos on the EcoSpeed web site don't really do justice to the quality and substance of the product.

...After checking and re-checking the wiring, I drove around slowly, making sure that everything was working smoothly, I headed for the ultimate test of the EcoSpeed system. A long and steep hill that both {popular Chinese and Canadian made hub motors} failed to handle.

This dreaded hill has been my nemesis for a long time and is the main reason why I started looking into E-bikes a couple of years ago. I have tested every E-bike setup available in Vancouver Canada and all of them, including electric scooters, were defeated by this hill.

Why Recumbent Bikes?
Why Electric Mid-Drive?

This horror of a hill was a piece of cake for EcoSpeed. With my 24 volt setup I never had to push the throttle past 3/4. It quickly became clear to me that I didn't even need to pedal. I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. The faint hum of the motor was a pleasant reminder that I was being transported up this hill. A real feeling of luxury.

Ecospeed at 24 volts accomplished what all the other systems failed to do at 36 volts. I am impressed and very happy with my EcoSpeed motor-drive. Thank you Brent and EcoSpeed for designing and manufacturing a superior product that makes riding a recumbent bike so much more fun.

...I now ride wherever I like to go, I still pedal all the time but now I can go uphill at my normal flatland cadence and not feel stressed. This arrangement has extended my years of cycling...

“I purchased a bike from Ecospeed for my wife.  She hadn't ridden a bike in 30 years and is more a book-worm than a bike enthusiast by far.  But with the Ecospeed technology, not only is she loving the ride, she's able to go riding with our teenage daughter.  This was not the first electric bike we'd purchased. I have one where the motor drives the wheel instead of the chain. The Ecospeed design is not only much better on hills, it also is better at the higher speeds.  It's nothing less than revolutionary.”

Finally, I found someone who married recumbents and electric motors!

Article from Austalia, here.

...The eTE (electric Tour Easy) continues to run fine .. have accumulated a total of about 350 miles to date .. mostly local rides within my own neighborhood and community. Have made one 40 mile ride , average speed about 17 mph and utilized 12.6 amp/hrs on the battery ... I particularly appreciate having the Whattmeter to monitor my 'fuel tank' and note that on my typical rides I average between .32 and .37 amps per mile...I still ride my Gold Rush and other bikes from time to time for exercise but am using the eTE more and more and as my 80 yo body continues to age I'm hoping to extend my time 'on the road' by a couple more years!
